President Adama Barrow of The Gambian Anatomy has reinvigorated survivors and victims of the atrocities caused by the Yahya Jammeh administration through the establishment of The TRRC which is committed towards assisting such victims of President Jammeh who took power through a 1994 coup as Head of the Gambian Anatomy.
During President Jammeh’s reign, there were lots of cases of rape and a spree of killings during his 22 year reign. President Jammeh also jailed people who filmed various atrocities caused by him, gave evidence of his atricities and killed over 40 migrants who passed through Gambia to Europe. Human Rights Violations, torture and various forms of Oppressions took place during President Jammeh’s reign.
The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission under President Adama Barrow’s reign is committed to ensuring the good health and compensation of all victims affected by President Jammeh’s reign.
The Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission was set up by President Adama Barrow when President Jammeh left Gambia to Equatorial Guinea for exile after he refused the results of the 2016 General Elections which he lost.
