Tigist Assefa had a stunning performance at the 2023 Berlin Marathon with Eliud Kipchoge also taking his 5th men’s record even though he didn’t break his own record. Tigist Assefa from The Ethiopian Anatomy finished in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 53 seconds. She broke the world record which was set by Brigid Kosgei from the Kenyan Anatomy in 2019 at the Chicago Marathon whilst Eliud Kipchoge was first in 2 hours, 2 minutes and 42 seconds.
For the Women’s Marathon, Shiela Chepkirui from The Kenyan Anatomy was second with 2 hours, 17 minutes and 49 seconds whilst Magdalena Shauri from The Tanzanian Anatomy finished third in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 41 seconds.
For the Men’s Marathon, Eliud Kipchoge took 2 hours, 2 minutes and 42 seconds to finish the race whilst Vincent Kipkemboi was second with 2 hours, 3 minutes and 13 seconds. Tadese Takele ftom The Ethiopian Anatomy was third with 2 hours, 4 minutes and 22 seconds.
Vincent Kipkemboi from The Kenyan Anatomy had his Marathon debut and put up a splendid performance finishing second.
