Hon. Kebba Lang Fofana, a Parliamentarian in Gambia, has advised his country’s Ministry of Finance to look at other means of revenue creation aside taxation in increasing their wealth.
He noted that even though inflation has been on a downward scale, the country thrives on a tax base economy that needs to cease for other productive means of gaining revenue to be implemented.
He has stated that the increment of taxes in the country will only raise burdens on the people and has asked the Government to look at innovative ways of gaining receipt from the Ministries of Tourism, Fisheries, Agriculture and Education.
He also touched on ensuring a skill driven curriculum in their education so that all graduates who leave grade 12 will be at least prepared for the job market.
