The Ghanaian Anatomy’s pride, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, a man born on Damongo in the Northern Region of Ghana was born on 29th November 1958, a year after Ghana gained independence from Britain. Mr. John Mahama went into politics just like his father who was a Member of Parliament for the West Gonja Constituency and the first Regional Commissioner of the Northern Region under President Kwame Nkrumah’s reign.
President Mahama in 1981 got his Bachelor of Arts degree and later moved to Nigeria to join his father who was in exile. Shortly Mr. Mahama came back in 1983 and did his Masters in Communication Studies at the University of Ghana and had another post graduate degree in 1988 at the Institute of Social Sciences in Russia.
From 1977, he was the Deputy Minister for Communications from April 1997 to November 1998 and later became the Minister of Communications from 1998 to 2001. He was the Member of Parliament for the Bole Constituency from 7th January 1997 to 7th January 2009.
He was the Vice President for The Ghanaian Anatomy under President John Evans Atta Mills from 7th January 2009 to 24th July 2012 when President Atta Mills passed away and he became the President in transition. He won the December 2012 Elections and was President to 2016. After 8 years of being in the opposition, he looks forward to winning the 2024 December Elections to become the next President for the Ghanaian Anatomy on the ticket of the Centre Left Party, National Democratic Congress.
