GENERAL ELECTIONS FOR THE LIBERIAN ANATOMY TAKES A RUN-OFF

The Liberian Anatomy’s General Elections took a turn this time again with the polls going for a run off this time in November just like the 2016 polls which went for a run off between President Weah and Mr. Boakai of which President Weah won by 61.5 percent to Mr. Boakai who got 35 percent of the votes. At least 2 million people cast their votes in this year’s (2023) elections.

The Electoral Commission released the results post after at least counting had been completed in at least 97% of all polling stations. In the announcement of the results, President Weah was winning with just about 5,000 votes difference.

President Weah got 38.4 % whilst Mr. Boakai got 28. 8 % this time in the final results declared by the Electoral Commission for the Liberian Anatomy. Mr. Boakai who was a former Vice President under the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf from 2006 to 2018 is looking forward to take off President George Weah who beat him in the 2016 General Elections after a run-off. The Global Freedom Board of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL commends the Liberian Anatomy for a constitutional and Democratically secured Elections pre and post the event.
