Ex-President John Dramani Mahama of The Ghanaian Anatomy has been sued for vying as a Presidential Candidate after spending another term in office from 2013 to 2017.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama, an Ex-President for the Ghanaian Anatomy has been sued by Kenneth Kwabena Kuranchie, a Ghanaian citizen and Managing Director of The Daily Searchlight Paper; a Newspaper in Ghana on Mr. John Dramani Mahama’s decision to stand as a Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress, the current major opposition Political Party in Ghana.
Kenneth Kwabena Kuranchie has stated that that according to Article 66 (1) of the 1992 constitution, someone who can Stand for a second Presidential term is only eligible to do so once he is a sitting President. He has stated that it is different for Ex-President John Dramani Mahama who wants to recontest for a second Presidential term after being in Power already for two terms with a new Government took over.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama has recently been nominated as his Party, National Democratic Congress’ flagbearer ahead of the 2024 Presidential Elections for the Ghanaian Anatomy. He won 297,603 votes which represented about 98% of votes at the Presidential Primaries making him unarguably the winner. Mr. John Dramani Mahama has been one of the finest Presidents for The Ghanaian Anatomy after he took Power from 24th July, 2012 to 7th January 2017. Mr. John Mahama was initially the Vice President of Ghana’s Democratic Leader; Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, who was President for The Ghanaian Anatomy from 7th January 2009 to 24th July 2012 when he passed away at the 37 Millitary Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Prof. Atta Mills helped spearhead a new era of Pluralistic Freedom for the Ghanaian Anatomy. Known as the “Asomdwehene” which means King of Peace in Twi, he was known for deepening ties of Solidarity between ethnic groups and Political parties in Ghana.
President John Dramani Mahama served as the President for the Ghanaian Anatomy from 24th July 2012 after President Mahama’s death and continued President John Atta Mills’ tenure as obligated by the laws of Ghana. In the 2012 December Elections, President Mahama was nominated by his Party, to stand for the elections and he won by 50.70% of the total votes cast. He was sworn in as President of the Ghanaian Anatomy for another term from 7th January 2013 to 7th January 2017. He was a significant leader who contributed to Ghana’s Development in many ways.
