CITIZENS FROM THE GHANAIAN ANATOMY SKEPTICAL OF DR. BAWUMIA’S ABOLITION

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President for The Ghanaian Anatomy has reiterated on the fact of building a digitalised economy when he becomes President for the Ghanaian Anatomy. He has emphasized that he will end the tax on electronic financial transactions. However, Ghanaians are not convinced with his quest.

The electronic financial transactions popularly known as e-levy is a tax on mobile money transactions. His quest to ensure a cashless economy follows in his stride to eschew the e-levy which was implemented in 2022 by President Akufo-Addo. However, Ghanaians are skeptical about his new change because of his major role played in the establishment of the levy on all Electronic Transfers, in the year 2022.

Dr. Bawumia has also stated that there will be tax exemptions on tax betting, the proposed 15% VAT on electricity tariffs and the emissions tax.
