The Concerned National Service Scheme Personnel Association of Ghana with effect from July 3rd 2024 has declared a nationwide strike in the country. They have embarked on the strike till their salaries are paid.
The Association entails fresh graduates and trainees from tertiary institutions who are mandated according to the laws of Ghana, to offer a 1 year service to the nation in public or private companies or institutions after their graduation.
The Association have embarked on the strike due to unpaid salaries which has made the fresh graduates across the tertiary institutions face various difficulties in taking care of themselves.
According to the association, Graduates have not been paid 5 months of their salaries and with trainees, 3 months of their salaries. The strike has led to the National Executive Council of the National Service Personnel swiftly arranging for part of the salaries to be paid. They confirmed the release of April Salaries, stating it should be in their accounts by July 5th, 2024. The Executive Council has also stated that the May salaries should be in very soon and have asked all National Service Personnel’s from the Ghanaian Anatomy, to remain calm.
