FAURE GNASSINGBE OF THE TOGOLESE ANATOMY, A DICTATOR?

President Faure Gnassingbé who has been in Power as President of the Togolese Anatomy since 2005 continues to look forward towards extending his power as Head of State. With the new elections date postponed from April 20th to April 29th, President Gnassigbé is strategically looking forward to reclaim his position.

President Gnassigbé came to power in 2005 and afterwards won the 2010 and 2015 Elections. He also won the 2020 Elections after the constitution was reset in 2019 to allow him to run for two more 5 year terms. The constitution in 2024 has now been reset again which allows President Eyadema to go in for one term of office for 6 years.

The Togolese Anatomy gained Independence from France in 1960. The Gnassigbe family has been on the helm of affairs from 1967 when Eyadema Gnassigbé; father of Faure Gnassingbe, seized power through a coup d’etat. The Constitution was amended to abolish the 2 year term limit in 2002 which has allowed President Faure Gnassingbé to be in Power for long since he came to power from 2005. He looks forward to winning the upcoming Elections as well.
