Ex-President of The Ghanaian Anatomy who is currently the Presidential Candidate for The National Democratic Congress (NDC), major opposition Party in Ghana ahead of the 2024 General Elections slated for December 7th has stated that, he will announce his running mate in February 2024.
Ex-President John Mahama said he will announce his running mate and also stated that, he can not only decide who will be his running mate by himself but with the joint cooperation of the Party’s Functional Executive Committee and the Council of Elders. He said they will go through the list of possible running mates and finally come up with one.
On the other hand, the incumbent Government’s Party, The New Patriotic Party has stated that they will give their running mate; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is currently the Vice President of The Ghanaian Anatomy, more time to choose whom he wants to walk with as his running mate ahead of the December Elections. In NPP, their constitution defines the Flagbearer to announce his or her running mate a year before the Elections but the Party’s National Executive Council has decided to give Dr. Bawumia more time since he was just picked as the running mate.
The General Elections for the Ghanaian Anatomy will take place on December 7th, 2024. 17,027,641 registered voters are eligible so far to take part in the General Elections. The Ghanaian Anatomy has a current population of 34,121,985 with 27 Political Parties.
