The Government of The Malawian Anatomy has sent hundreds of their citizens to Israel to work as farm labourers. The first batch of labourers who were at least 200 people went to Israel, on November 25th. Opposition leader in Parliament; Honourable Kondwani Nankhumwa, has raised an alarm concerning the departure of these Malawians by the Government to Israel for receipts in the midst of the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.
The sending of Malawians to Israel amidst the current crisis between Israel and Palestine according to Kondwani Nankhumwa, head of the major opposition Party in Malawi, is not a step in the right direction.
The Malawian Anatomy has been facing a worsening economic crisis over the years and in their agenda to revamp their economy back again, the joint project between their country and Israel is one of their plans to alleviate unemployment in the nation especially amongst the youth and restore a stable economy back again.
President Lazarus Chakwera has taken a number of steps to stabilise their economy including restricting all Government officials from all foreign travels.
The Israeli and Malawian Anatomies have had strong ties over the years. Israel has been sending Doctors and Professionals in agriculture to Malawi for some time, whilst most Malawians also go to Israel to take courses in Agriculture. He has also promised to have a Malawian Embassy in Israel as part of measures in building their strong ties over the years.
