GENERAL ELECTIONS FOR THE SIERRA LEONEAN ANATOMY TAKES PLACE, TODAY

The Sierra Leonean Anatomy will be casting their votes today: Saturday, 24th June, 2024 to determine who will be President of the country. This Elections will be the fifth post the civil war that begun in 1991 and ended on January 2002 leaving about 50,000 people, dead.

President Bio won by a slight margin to Mr. Samura Kamara in the 2018 General Elections. President Maada Bio in the 2018 Elections won the Elections by 51.8% to Mr. Samura Kamara’s 42.8% in the run-off Elections. President Julius Maada Bio of The Sierra Leonean Anatomy will be facing 12 candidates with Mr. Samura Kamara of the All People’s Congress Party again as the main Opposition candidate.

About 3.3 million citizens out of about 8.8 million people of the Sierra Leonean Anatomy are expected to take part in the Elections. In Sierra Leone there are two terms in office with each term taking five years as President Julius Maada Bio seeks to win his second term after finishing his first term from 2018.
