The flagbearer of The incumbent Government’s Political Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has submitted Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the current Minister of Energy as his preferred running mate ahead of the December 7th Elections slated for the Ghanaian Anatomy. He made this known to President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday 25th June, 2024.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, an old student of Prempeh College in the Ashanti Region and a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology became a Parliamentarian in 2008 and served as a Parliamentarian to 2020. He became the Education Minister in 2020 and is now the Energy Minister.
The Manhyia South Parliamentarian popularly known as NAPO has received honorary doctorates from the University of Winneba in Ghana and the University of Professional Studies. Research from AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL has indicated that majority of Parliamentarians from the Incumbent Government’s Party; New Patriotic Party, had been behind Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh already before Dr. Bawumia’s submission.
