The Economic Community of West African States who have been against the Coup which was successfully ploted on July 26th by Gen. Abdourahmane of The Nigerien Anatomy set a deadline for the restoration of Civilian Rule in the country. They set 6th August not only for the restoration of Civilian Rule but for the reinstatement of the ousted President, H.E. Mohamed Bazoum.
However it looks like the Military of The Nigerien Anatomy set deaf ears on the rule of The regional bloc and are still ruling the country post August 6th. Niger even though is one of the most economically defiant countries in West Africa is very rich in Uranium and Oil which has been on the interest of countries like Russia, China and the United States of America who are all against the Coup D’etat. The Nigerien Military have called on The Wagner Group, a Military group from Russia linked with President Putin that operates with plausible deniability in Russia to help them in case ECOWAS brings in troops to fight against the military Junta. Most citizens could be seen at The Niamey Stadium hoisting Russian flags and supportimg the newly Military Junta headed by Gen. Abdourahmane Tchiani. Most youths from The Nigerien Anatomy are behind the Coup as they believe it is a right step towards liberating their Anatomy from the chains of colonial rule.
Gen. Abdourahmane has gone ahead even prior to the deadline by ECOWAS to appoint military leaders to take key Government positions in the West African Bloc. ECOWAS has also promised to bring in military intervention to restore Democratic rule for The Nigerien Anatomy if Gen. Abdourahmane who has also declared himself as President does not reinstate President Bazoum and hid Government.
