2 min read

Fela Kuti was a Nigerian Musician, Bandleader, Multi-Instrumentalist and Human Rights Activist, whose stand was to see to the promotion of Democratic and Political Freedom in Africa. He lived form 1938 to 1997. He spoke of Colonialism and Corruption as the main debilitating threats towards Good Governance, in the Global Anatomy.

Fela Kuti was a Relentless leader who stood strong and courageous in all his acts, to see to Freedom right from Nigeria, to every nook and cranny of the Global Anatomy. He started to rise in the 1970s and was very phenomenal in all his strides. He brought about phenomenal albums like Zombie, Live!, Shuffering and Shmiling, Army Arrangement, Gentleman and Up Side Down, that were all highly patronised in the Global Anatomy. In the late 1970s he formed the Kalakuta Republic Commune Band which was later seized through a Millitary Raid in Nigeria. He was imprisoned for almost two years by the Buhari Government. He survived that and was very relentless as he continued singing in the 1980s, and went throughout the world fighting for Freedom though his Music.

His Son Femi Kuti and Grandson Omorinmade Kuti have also stood strongly by him and have continued to spread his music to the Global Anatomy. They have also been phenomenal musicians and their latest Album; LEGACY +, released in February 2021 has been nominated by the United States Music Awards for the upcoming Grammys awards, in the Global Music category. AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL hails Fela Kuti for his Relentless spirit in standing tall for Freedom through his acts and commends all Freedom Giants, to stand Relentless in all their pursuits.
