STEPHEN APPIAH EYES THE GHANAIAN ANATOMY’S UPCOMING PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

Sports Veteran; Stephen Appiah, who was the former Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana has decided to join the train of Politicians vying for the Parliamentary seat in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency for the upcoming 2024 December Elections.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency is currently under the hold of the Incumbent Government’s Candidate; Lydia Seyram Alhassan who beat the major Opposition Party’s candiate; John Dumelo, in the 2020 elections. John Dumelo, an Actor and Entrepreneur of the National Democratic Congress is looking forward to claim the seat in this year’s Elections.

The seat is going to be a highly contested one as the great midfielder; Stephen Appiah, who has led the Black Stars with a great sense of leadership over the years into the African Cup of nations and the World Cup, also stands as a competitive candidate. He will be vying as an Independent Candidate.

In the 2020 Elections, Lydia Seyram of NPP (Incumbent Government’s Party) had 39,851 votes placing first, with John Dumelo of National Democratic Congress winning 37, 478 votes placing second. For the Presidential votes, President Nana Akufo-Addo had 39, 962 of NPP placing first with Ex-President John Mahama of NDC placing second with 39, 709 votes.

Stephen Appiah has played for clubs like Juventus FC, Udinese, Parmalat and Brescia.
