The launch of the National Agribusiness Dialogue at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra has taken place. At the conference on 28th July, 2025, President John Mahama said the 24 hour + Economy Secretariat is compiling a list of locally made products from the country for government procurement.
President Mahama noted that because the government is the biggest spender in the economy, those products would be given priority by government agencies. He further stated that products that would be purchased outside the country would be only products that are not produced within the country,
President Mahama’s initiative seeks to boost local production in Ghana and transform Ghana’s agro-processing industries as part of the 24 hour economy framework, to serve as a sustainable base for agricultural development in Ghana.

President Mahama also stated that the government will waive import duties on agro-processing machinery in the short term to reduce costs and enhance access to technological resources. At the conference as well, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Finance Minister for the Ghanaian Anatomy, approved funding for the first phase of 50 centers under the administration’s Big Push initiative, centered on investment in affordable housing especially for low and middle income Ghanaians, Dualisation of Highways and construction of roads and feeder road, Rail and Urban Transit, Provision of safe and hygienic water to regions in need and Youth Employment.
