Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a missile attack on Israel’s largest oil refinery, Bazan Group in Haifa, on March 8th, 2026, in response to US-Israeli strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure. This attack is part of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which escalated after Israel killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28th 2026.

The refinery, which supplies around 50-60% of Israel’s domestic fuel, was previously damaged in a June 2025 Iranian missile attack, killing three employees and injuring dozens. That attack, part of Iran’s Operation True Promise 3, was a response to Israeli air raids on Iranian nuclear and military facilities.
