Jimmy Chérizier, a Haitian gang leader has been sanctioned by America. The sanctions include his assets been freezed in America and the prohibition of transactions by American citizens with him. Jimmy Chérizier was categorised by the U.S as a foreign terrorist in May, and was indicted by an American jury for sponsoring gang operations in his country.
On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, Jimmy Chérizier was accused by the USA Department of Justice for working to gatger funds from Haitian Diaspora to sponsor the operation of violence in Haiti.

The indictment also recognises Bazile Richardson, a naturalised American citizen born and bred from Haiti who grew with Chérizier as a major ally working with Chérizier to help facilitate the procession of funds from the Haitian Diaspora to gangs in Haiti towards buying of arms and paying them for their violence.

Jimmy Chérizier is the leader of the G9 Family and Allies gang federation and Viv Ansam. He has been alleged on countless times of trying to overthrow the Haitian Government. Since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in 2021, he has been known for causing lots of violence and has been behind the assassination of some police in Haiti. As a former police officer, Jimmy Chérizier has also vowed to oust Ariel Henry who took over after the assassination of Moïse.
Jimmy Chérizier had stated publicly that Jovenel Moïse should resign. However, Jovenel Moïse was assassinated in July 2021 allegedly by foreign Columbian mercenaries. After that, Chérizier mourned the death of Moïse and gathered over 1000 Haitians to mourn him. Ariel Henry took over and Chérizier has also vowed to oust him.
