MINING CONFERENCE HELD TOWARDS BOOSTING SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BASOTHO ANATOMY

The Lesotho Mining Indaba Conference was a conference held in Lesotho on the future and impact of mining for the Basotho Anatomy. The conference which was the first of its kind created an avenue for the need towards a directed attention on mining of minerals in the country, as a productive area for the socio-economic development of the Basotho Anatomy.

The Conference was held under the theme, “The future of Mining in the Global Landscape”. The conference has reshaped the focus of all investors, businessmen and concerned ones towards investing in the minerals sector with the requirements and exporting for more receipts to be fetched into the country.

A lot of people in the industry do not possess the licenses to trade for the minerals. This conference was to ensure legitimacy in ensuring the right investors.

The Conference was held at the Maseru Lesotho National Convention Centre from 25th April to 26th April, 2024. These were a few words captured from the chairperson of Southern Africa Miners Association; Jabu Xaba – “The specific objective of this gathering is to ensure Lesotho’s mineral wealth leads to the betterment of Basotho. We are going to take the responsibility to ensure that the present era and the future are characterised by mining for the benefit of Basotho.”

The CEO of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL LESOTHO; Hon. Hape Collins Mothebe, was also present at the Conference.
