President Macky Sall of The Senegalese Anatomy has promised after the constitutional court annulled his decision to postpone his country’s Elections and hand over after the postponed elections takes place, to finally hand over on 2nd April, 2024.
President Macky Sall decided to postpone the Elections from February to December as he said, there were Electoral irregularities and unqualified candidates running for Presidency. He was looking forward to a postponement to clear the issues surrounding all his complaints. However, the Constitutional Court cancelled his postponement of the Elections.
President Macky Sall has been President of The Senegalese Anatomy since 2012. He was however last sworn in on 2nd April 2019 and is expected to hand over this year after taking two terms.
These were words he said on live television following the declaration by the Constitutional Court – “Having been sworn in on 2 April 2019, 2 April 2024 completes the five-year calendar, so that’s the end of the Mandate. And I intend to stop at this mandate. After April 2, I intend to step down as President of the Republic.”
