On 21st September, 2023, residents from The Kenyan Anatomy came around to commemorate and remember all lives who were lost, as well as those who were injured and relatives of all injured or killed ones.
On September 21st 2013, 4 Armed men striked the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi – Kenya and killed at least 60 people with over 200 people being wounded. Reports from Freedom Giants from The Kenyan Anatomy indicate that, the killings were associated to the revolt by The Kenyan Army against the Al-Shabab Militants based in Somalia who were engaged in terrorist acts.
The 4 armed Men on 21st September, 2013 came to the Mall and started firing at anyone and also throwing grenades in the Mall. The Kenyan Soldiers fought back and also took hold of the Mall. This fight lasted from 21st September to 24th September. This was one of the deadliest social evils that had hit the country.
5 Kenyan Soldiers also lost their lives. Two people were captured as people behind the social evil and were imprisoned for 33 and 18 years, individually. Kenyan Soldiers had been sent to Somalia to wage a war against the Al-Shabab Jihadist group, that had been fighting against against Central Government in 2011. This was one of the main reasons for their presence at the Westgate Mall. The Kenyan Security have stated that theyvhave learnt their mistakes and are fully in control to make sure that, such acts fo not happen again.
