Taiwo Michael Akinkunmi from the Nigerian Anatomy has passed away at age 93. He passed away on the 29th of August 2023. This Nationalist was the designer of The Nigerian Anatomy’s beautiful flag which has been used for years.
Mr. Akinkunmi in 1958 had the best design for the Nigerian Flag when the country organised an Arts event for various artists to design a flag for the country. Mr. Akinkunmi’s design for the flag was chosen and adopted as the country’s flag. Hus designed flag was officially raised up on The Nigerian Anatomy’s Independence Day on Ist October 1960 when the British flag was raised down. Mr. Akinkunmi went to Baptist Day Secondary School at Ibadan for Primary School, Ibadan Grammar School for secondary School and studied Electrical Engineering at Norwood Technical College in London
The Green represents the country’s agricultural economy whiles the White represents Peace and Tranquility in the nation. Mr. Taiwo Akinkunmi was also honoured by Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan as a Member of the Order Award during his Presidency.
