ECOWAS TAKES PROACTIVE STEPS TO MEET IN GHANA

Heads of States from the West African Bloc of The African Anatomy (ECOWAS) will be meeting on Thursday and Friday (17th and 18th August) to take diplomatic measures towards resolving the Coup D’etat in Niger.

President Bazoum has been under house arrest since 26th July when he was ousted by Gen. Abdourahmane Tchiani. Whilst part of ECOWAS are calling for his reinstatement to power, Military Heads of State like Gen. Assimi Goïta and Ibrahim Traore are behind the Coup D’etat and see it as a Proactive measure towards restoring the identify of The African Anatomy.

The ECOWAS leaders Summit which took place on 10th of August in Abuja – Nigeria gave a second hand for a Diplomatic call towards solving the crisis.

The meeting had been initially planned to take place on 12th August but was postponed and will take place in Accra, Ghana on 17th and 18th of August.

President Mohamed Bazoum succeeded Ex-President Mohamadou Issoutou and was the 10th President of The Nigerien Anatomy and the first Democratically elected President post the country’s independence from the French Anatomy in 1960.
