At least 23, 000 inmates in Kenya have been freed as a means to ease congestion in the Prisons of Kenya. Aside this, there are 5, 000 cases still under review as the Government of The Kenyan Anatomy is also looking forward to ease at least 35, 000 prison inmates at the close of the Freedom Year, 2023.

Prisons in Kenya have been full and has created problems for the State Department for Correctional Services for The Kenyan Anatomy, who are in charge of managing the facilities in the East African country. Earlier on in March, The State Department for Correctional Services released at least 7,000 inmates from prison. The Government also believes releasing these inmates before their time is a way of giving them a second chance to live a better life as citizens of The Kenyan and Global Anatomy.

The Government for The Kenyan Anatomy is looking forward to other means of punishing offenders rather than keeping them in Prisons to be able to keep the Prisons not congested. In January 2023, the total number of Prisoners in Kenya were at least 58, 500.
