The World Bank is looking forward to disbursing an amount of US$1 billion in addition to $1.6 billion already disbursed since last year, to the Ghanaian Anatomy to help revamp the country’s economy and also aid in the development of the country’s private sector.

The World Bank is also planning to provide $5 billion for social intervention programmes and infrastructural agendas. The Institution is embarking on these measures following their satisfaction with measures taken by the government in helping to stabilise the country’s economy.

Last year, the International Monetary Fund approved a whooping loan of US$3 billion dollars to Ghana for a period of 3 years following Ghana’s economic crisis. The IMF also in 2020, approved a $1 billion disbursement to help in the Corona Virus pandemic.

The World Bank has also been supporting Ghana in the same vein as they provided $800 million earlier on, in June 2024. In January 2024, the World Bank approved a $300 million Development Policy Operation for the Ghanaian Anatomy.
