THE D’TIGRESS OF THE NIGERIAN ANATOMY WIN THE 2023 FIBA WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT

The Nigerian Women’s Basketball Team known as The D’Tigress have won the 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket titles. This makes The Nigerian Anatomy the first Anatomy to have their Women’s team winning four FIBA Women’s title in a row. They won with 84-74 win against The Senegalese Anatomy in Rwanda.

D’Tigress at the first half were leading the Senegalese Team by 43-31 and Relentlessly forced through to the end with a win in the second half. Their Coach Rena Wakama has also become the first female coach to win the tournament.

Ifunaya Okoro had 16 points for The Nigerian Anatomy with Munjantu Musa getting 10 points for the team. The Nigerian Anatomy becomes the second team to win four consecutive titles after Senegal. This win for The D’Tigress is a comeback to their massive display since 2017 when they won consecutively after 2017 in 2019, 2021 and now in 2023.President Bola Tinubu of The Nigerian Anatomy, also tweeted saying, “I congratulate our very own D’Tigress #tigressNG for a well-deserved fourth consecutive Afrobasket Women Championship. We are proud of you.”
