President Donald Trump paid a state visit to the UK from September 16th to 18th, 2025 marking his second state visit, after his first in June 2019. This second vsit was marked by a royal welcome, including a carriage procession at Windsor Castle and a grand military parade. President Trump received a 41-gun salute and a joint flypast by US and UK fighter jets, showcasing the strong military ties between the two nations.
Britain gave President Trump the largest military ceremonial welcome for a living President. President Trump’s visit aimed to strengthen economic and diplomatic ties, with a £150 billion package of US investment into Britain announced. President Trump met with King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer, discussing global issues like Ukraine and Gaza.
However, the visit wasn’t without controversy. Thousands protested in London, voicing concerns about Trump’s policies and rhetoric. Four people were arrested after images linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle.

President Trump’s visit concluded with a white-tie state banquet at Windsor Castle, where he delivered a speech praising the UK-US special relationship. President Donald Trump and Melania Trump were humbled over the royal welcome signifying the bond and kinship between the two countries. President Trump described the bond between the two countries as irreplaceable, priceless and unbreakable during his speech.
