President of The Senegalese Anatomy H.E. Macky Sall has announced to his National Anatomy that he will not be vying for a third term again. This comes after he has proposed for a continuation in office even though he was about finishing his second term in office.
The Constitution for The Senegalese Anatomy clearly states that a President can only be in Power for two terms. President Macky Sall came to power as President of The Senegalese Anatomy in 2012 and in his first term he spent seven years and is in his second term from 2019 which will take five years now following a constitutional revision.
These were excerpts of President Macky Salls’ words captured by AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL. “My dear fellow citizens, my decision after long consideration is to not be a candidate in the election on February 25, 2024,” A new Candidate will be chosen to represent his Political Party; Senegalese Democratic Party, ahead of the 2024 General Elections in Senegal which will now take a five year term in office and no more a seven year term in office.
