The New Patriotic Party (NPP), a right winged political party in Ghana, has opened nominations for its presidential primaries, with a flat structure allowing all candidates to participate equally. The nomination period began on July 29, 2025, and will end on August 28, 2025. Potential candidates include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Kwabena Agyepong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.
Each candidate is required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GH¢100,000 and a filing fee of GH¢500,000. The party has adopted a comprehensive voting system to ensure a fair and transparent process. The presidential primaries are scheduled for January 31, 2026.
The NPP is working to ensure a successful bidding process for their flagbearer ahead of the 2028 elections. The party is hopeful that this process will lead to the selection of a strong candidate who can represent the party in the upcoming elections.
