The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum & Memorial Park, a place that gives credence to the historical emblem of our great Pan-African Godfather; Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was out of opening for sometime and has been reopened on 4th July, 2023 after renovation, restructuring as well as maintenance works were performed at the site.
The Park was constructed by His Excellency John Jerry Rawlings of The Ghanaian Anatomy in 1990 and opened in 1992 to give reckon to Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who paved the way for The Ghanaian Anatomy’s Independence and the Crossway for Africa’s Rejuvenation. The Park receives averagely 85, 000 people annually. On 19th July 2022, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture under the Akufo-Addo led Government cut the sod for the renovation and restructuring of the Mausoleum after receiving a $40 Million loan from the World Bank in 2021. The renovated Mausoleum now comprises of a Presidential Library, a restaurant, a gift shop, washrooms, a mini-amphitheater and a new audio visual fountain.
The Renovation has been completed and The President of The Ghanaian Anatomy; H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today; 4th July 2023, commissioned the newly opened Memorial Park and Mausoleum which was closed for about a year. The GLOBAL FREEDOM BOARD of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL commends the Government of Ghana and The Convention People’s Party for ensuring a successful completion of the Renovation of the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum & Memorial Park. This is a quintessential step in the right direction towards educating posterity about the legacy, our Godfather; Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah set forth ahead, for The African Anatomy.
