AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL Secretariat confirm the passing of distinguished prominent Ghanaian officials, including Minister for Defence Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru (also known as Alhaji Muniru Mohammed), former Minister for Food and Agriculture and Vice Chairman of the NDC Dr. Samuel Sarpong, and former NDC Parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, as well as three air force officers. They were on board a helicopter that tragically crashed while en route to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme.
This devastating loss occurs at a critical juncture, as President Mahama works to advance his agenda for the nation in the second half of the year. The impact of this event will likely be felt across various sectors, and the nation mourns the passing of these dedicated public servants.
President Mahama has ordered the flag of Ghana to fly at half mast following the helicopter crash. These were a few words stated by Chief of Staff for Ghana, Hon. Julius Debrah, “The President and the government extend our condolences and sympathies to the families of our Comrades and the service men who died in service to the country. All flags are to fly at half-mast until further notice,” Chief of Staff announced.”
