Three men in Benin have been arrested with the suspicion of planning to plot a coup to oust their president, President Talon, from power.
Among the three detained men included Oswald Homeky, an ex sports minister for the Beninois Anatomy. Republican Guard commander Djimon Dieudonne Tevoedjre and Olivier Boko, a businessman close to the current President, Mr. Patrice Talon, were all arrested.
These were a few words captured from the Prosector’s speech – “It appears that the Republican Guard commander in charge of the president’s security was engaged by Homeky and Boko to carry out a coup d’etat by force on Sept. 27.” They were detained for attempting to bribe military officers not to resist the coup in order to oust President Talon of the Beninois Anatomy.
