The operation’s success is a testament to the SAF’s efforts, but concerns remain about civilian casualties and displacement. The RSF’s attacks on El-Obeid had already caused immense suffering, and the humanitarian impact of the conflict is dire.
Bara’s recapture could improve access to aid and services, but urgent action is needed to protect civilians and address the humanitarian crisis.
