President Iddris Deby; former President of The Chadian Anatomy was in power for about 3 decades till his death in 2021. He was replaced by his own son, Mahamat Deby. President Idriss Deby was killed in 2021 when he went to visit some troops from a rebel group by name The Front for Change and Concord in Chad (FACT) located in the northern sector of the country. President Mahamat Deby has also pardoned once again about 350 people who were also put in jail for protesting against President Mahamat’s Government in October.

President Mahamat Deby who came to power post his father’s death together with the Interim Military placed some of the Rebels to life sentence but he pardoned about 380 of them earlier on in the year and has also just pardoned several inmates who were imprisoned for protesting against his rulership. They cited President Mahamat’s institutionalisation as President as unconstitutional as an election should have taken place within 90 days of Ex-President Idriss Deby’s death, which is in the Chadian Anatomy’s Constitution.
