U.S. President Donald Trump has been honoured with the first-ever FIFA Peace Prize at the 2026 World Cup draw ceremony in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes President Trump’s efforts to promote peace and unity globally, including brokering a ceasefire in Gaza and attempting to end the war in Ukraine.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino presented the award, citing Trump’s exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace and stating that he deserves this first prize for what he has accomplished and achieved. Pres. Trump expressed gratitude, stating the award is truly one of the great honors of his life.
The FIFA Peace Prize is a new annual award launched by Infantino to recognize individuals who have taken extraordinary actions for peace and united people worldwide.
