The Nigerian military has scored a significant victory in its fight against terrorism, killing Abu Khalid, a top commander of Boko Haram, in a night raid in Borno State. Abu Khalid, who was the second-in-command for the group’s logistics and operations in Sambisa Forest, was killed alongside ten other militants. The operation, carried out by the Nigerian armed forces, resulted in no casualties on their side.

Abu Khalid was a key figure in Boko Haram, playing a crucial role in coordinating the group’s operations and logistics in the Sambisa axis. His death is a significant blow to the terrorist organization, which has been waging a decade-long insurgency in Nigeria.

The Nigerian military has been battling Boko Haram and its splinter group, ISWAP, as well as armed gangs that kidnap locals for ransom. The success of this operation is a rare bright spot in the country’s efforts to contain the rising levels of violence.
