FRENCH COURT SEIZES 3 PLANES BELONGING TO THE NIGERIAN ANATOMY

A French Court has taken custody of three jets belonging to the Nigerian Anatomy’s Government following a dispute between the Nigerian Anatomy’s Government and Zhongsgan Fucheng Industrial Investment, a Chinese Company.

The dispute dates back from 2007, when there was an agreement for the development of a free trade zone between Ogun State in South Western Nigeria and the Chinese Company, where goods could be transported to and from Ogun State with no taxes or less taxes, but was halted in 2016 through dubious means.

This has led to 3 Nigerian planes being seized in France, where they were being worked on for maintenance. The seizure comes following orders from the Judicial Court of Paris. The Nigerian Anatomy’s government has accused the Chinese Company of not saying facts clearly, leading to the confiscation of their planes.

The issue has been going back and forth as in March 2021, the British Supreme Court charged Ogun State with a fine of $74.5m, but they refused to pay. Recently, all Nigerian owned buildings in Liverpool were also seized following the dispute.
