CHIEF DR. ZABLONG ZAKARIA, A PACESETTER FOR THE AFRICAN ANATOMY

Chief Dr. Zablong Zakaria Abdalla, an Elder in AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL was a lecturer at the Institute of African Studies for over 3 decades. He was a lecturer in African Music and Dance at the University of Ghana – Legon, and was a Master Drummer and a historian.

He hails from Zabzugu in the Northern Region of Ghana, where he stayed for a part of his life. He had his secondary school at Ghana Secondary School in the early 1980s and had his degree in the early 2000s.

He was a member of the Northern Students Union, Dagomba Students Union, and the Ghana Muslim students Union who served on many fronts as a vibrant member of all these unions.

He gained his Master’s Degree in 2005 in African Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon. He was highly revered and without any deliberation, unanimously appended as a Doctor for his commitment to African Studies at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon.

He was a Freedom Giant of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL and an Elder of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL. His commitment, love and profound work in AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL was very much revered. He was a “Papa” to all Freedom Giants. He was very affable, disciplined and full of wisdom.
