CAPTAIN TRAORE INTRODUCES PRISON REFORMS – BURKINABE ANATOMY

Captain Ibrahim Traore has introduced a new prison reform which gives prisoners the opportunity to work in areas of agriculture.

The reform states that, each month of working for the agricultural sector deducts three months from the prison term of each prisoner.

The reforms aims to tackle overcrowding in prisons in Burkina Faso. It seeks to boost agricultural production in Burkina Faso and develop a self reliant economy.

Captain Traore has also stated that this reform is a clear departure from the Western style of justice towards adopting African oriented values for his National Anatomy.
