NEW COALITION GOVERNMENT OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN ANATOMY’S, NAMED GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY

The African National Congress on Friday 14th June 2024, has finalised on an agreement deal to have a coalition government named the Government of National Unity with the main opposition Party, Democratic Alliance headed by John Steenhuisen who has headed the party since November 2020.

The Coalition agreement was announced in their first Parliamentary sitting on Friday 14th June, 2024. The ANC will now have a Government with the white ruled Party, Democratic Alliance. The Human Rights Activist; Julius Malema of the Economic Freedom Fighters was asked by the African National Congress to join the coalition by Mr. Julius Malema refused to join.

The coalition which has the inclusion of the Inkatha Party for the first time in the South African Anatomy’s democracy after 3 decades, will be having a coalition government. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to be sworn in as President on June 19th post the backing of the Democratic Alliance Party.
