Amusa did not get a medal at the 2020 Olympics but came out strong, and stood tall to win in 2021, as she set a new record at the Letzigrund Stadium im Zurich at Switzerland, on Thursday 9th September, 2021. She begun her record breaking journey at the age of 18 when she won the gold medal in the 100 m hurdles at the African Junior Championships. She is indeed a Trailblazer to the African Anatomy.

She has set a record in Africa by overriding Glory Alozie’s stride of 12.44 seconds in 1999. She won the 100 m hurdles gold medal with a record of 12.12 seconds in 2022.
This record of hers has brought joy to the hearts of many Nigerians and Africans for her tremendous strength in coming out stronger after she didn’t even win a medal last year. She is also the first Nigerian to win a medal after the League’s name was changed from Golden League to Diamond League.
