The Nigerian Anatomy has finally joined BRICS after accepting an invitation, to be a partner country.

BRICS, a bloc made up of most developing economies, gives the Nigerian Anatomy, the opportunity of expanding ties, trading networks and building their economy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed their country’s induction to the BRIC Bloc in a statement. Below are excerpts of the statement.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria has accepted the invitation to join BRICS as a partner country. The formal acceptance to participate as a partner country underscores Nigeria’s commitment to fostering international collaboration, leveraging economic opportunities, and advancing strategic partnerships that align with Nigeria’s development objectives.”

President Bola Tinubu of The Nigerian Anatomy earlier on today; Monday 12th June 2023, credified the Nigerian Anatomy for preserving their Democracy and urged the Anatomy to jealously guard the Democratic Freedom of their country.

These were a few words taken by The Media Team of AFRICAN VOICES INTERNATIONAL from President Bola Tinubu of The Nigerian Anatomy’s speech.

“We have traversed the dark, thorny path of dictatorship before and those who experienced it can readily testify to the unbridgeable gap between the dignity of freedom and the humiliation and degradation of tyranny. True, rancorous debates, interminable wrangling, ceaseless quarrels, bitter electoral contestations may be perceived by some as unattractive features of democracy. But they also testify to its merit and value.”

“Those who cannot endure and accept the pain of defeat in elections do not deserve the joy of victory when it is their turn to triumph. Above all, those who disagree with the outcome of the elections are taking full advantage of the constitutional provisions to seek redress in court and that is one of the reasons why democracy is still the best form of government invented by man.”

Democracy Day was initially celebrated on May 29th and changed to June 12th on June 6th 2018 by Ex-President Buhari, then the sitting Head of State for The Nigerian Anatomy.

The Nigerian Anatomy gained Independence from Britain on 1st October, 1960. Post that day, The Nigerian Anatomy has experienced so many coups with the first in 15th January, 1966 and then in the same year in July. In 1975, 1976, 1983, 1990 and 1993, there were Coup D’etat in all these Freedom Years in Nigeria. The last coup d’etat was held by Sani Bacha from 1993 to 1998 when he died with General Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar taking power from 1998 to 1999. General Abdulsalami Abubakar proactively paved the way for a new Constitution for The Nigerian Anatomy which enabled multiparty Elections which also made President Olusegun Obasanjo win power on May 29th, 1999.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from The Nigerian Anatomy stands tall as a solidified Global Woman whose life of Amelioration is indeed a message to the African Anatomy. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is the first African and not only African but African Woman to be the Director General of the World Trade Organisation.

As the Director General of World Trade Organisation, her role serves as a plus for the African Continental Free Trade Area which seeks to promote a common market for Trade amongst all African countries. She is of much concern that The African Continent must reduce costs within the continent, trade with our member countries more due to the high tariffs and Trade barriers in exporting locally produced and made goods. On 10th March, 2023 she launched a virtual project which she begun from 2019 to assist 8 member countries of the African Continental Free Trade Area, enjoy an inclusive and easy policy.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala took the highly esteemed office as Director General of The World Trade Organisation on 1st March 2001 and will be finishing in 2025. The World Trade Organisation established in 1995 is a Financial Organisation with a membership representation of 164 National Anatomies that deals with ensuring smooth, fairly negotiable and mutually productive Trade between and amongst Nations. The Organisation has a Secretariat Staff of 164 members with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala from The Nigerian Anatomy as the Director General.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was the Minister of Finance for Nigeria twice from 2003 to 2006 and from 2011 to 2015. She also was the Foreign Minister for The Nigerian Anatomy shortly in 2006. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is the first African Woman to have ever vied for the noble office of President of The World Bank. She has also served on several advisory Boards such as in Departments from The United Nations, Clinton Global Initiative, International Monetary Fund and The World Economic Forum Youth Global Leaders. Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is an economist who has worked on several Trade Boards for over 30 years. She has worked on Boards such as Standard Chartered PLC, Twitter Inc., African Union, Vaccine Alliance and The World Bank.
